01 / INTRODUCTION

About this policy

This Privacy Policy describes how BytePack IT & Security Advisory (“BytePack,” “we,” or “us”) handles information associated with bytepackadvisory.com, initial inquiries, and business communications.

Client assessment materials, security exports, and other project-specific information may be subject to additional terms agreed with the customer. Those engagement arrangements take precedence where they address a particular project or type of information.

02 / INFORMATION

Information we collect

Information you choose to share

When you contact BytePack by email, phone, or another inquiry channel, we may receive your name, business name, work email, phone number, a description of your needs, and any other information you choose to include.

Technical website information

Our website hosting and security services may process technical records such as IP addresses, browser or device information, requested pages, access times, referring pages, and information used to help maintain website performance and security.

03 / PURPOSE

How we use information

BytePack uses information as reasonably needed to:

  • Respond to inquiries and discuss whether an advisory service is a fit.
  • Prepare proposals, coordinate engagements, and communicate with customers.
  • Provide agreed services and maintain relevant business records.
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and protect our website and communications.
  • Meet applicable legal obligations and protect legitimate business interests.

We do not sell personal information.

04 / WEBSITE TECHNOLOGY

Cookies and website services

The website and its service providers may use cookies or similar technologies for site functionality, security, performance, or to understand website usage where such features are enabled. Third-party content or services, if present, may apply their own privacy practices.

You can manage or block many cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect website functionality.

05 / SERVICE PROVIDERS

When information is shared

Information may be processed by providers that help us run the website or conduct business, such as website hosting, email, scheduling, or other support services used for those purposes. We may also disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, prevent misuse, or respond to security incidents.

Other sites linked from BytePack may have separate privacy policies. We encourage you to review those policies before providing information to them.

06 / ADVISORY ENGAGEMENTS

How we approach client project information

Some BytePack services involve reviewing customer-supplied documents, technology inventories, or authorized configuration exports. We discuss what is needed and agree on suitable transfer and handling arrangements before requesting sensitive project files.

BytePack may use software-assisted analysis, automation, or AI-assisted draft support as part of advisory work. Customer-facing findings and recommendations are subject to human review. Before sensitive materials are transferred, the written engagement arrangements will address any relevant external or AI processing, access, storage, and retention terms.

Please do not send sensitive exports through an initial inquiry.

A first email or general website contact is for discussing your needs, not uploading credentials, identity records, security exports, or confidential customer data. Contact BytePack first so we can agree on the appropriate next step.

07 / SECURITY & RETENTION

Retention and protection

We aim to use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information involved. No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.

We retain inquiry and business information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including operational, contractual, recordkeeping, and legal needs. Specific handling and retention of customer assessment files should be established in the applicable engagement arrangements.

Service providers may process or store information in the locations where their systems operate. We do not represent that all website information is stored or processed exclusively in North Carolina.

08 / YOUR CHOICES

Questions and requests about your information

You may contact us to ask about personal information you have provided, or to request its correction or deletion. We will review requests in light of our records, contractual obligations, and applicable law. You can also manage website cookies using your browser controls.
